While traveling it's important to stay organized, on top of travel delays and to plan ahead to ensure for a seamless travel experience - and one of the easiest ways to do these things is to utilize travel apps.
Since there are so many we've rounded up some of our favorites that we find ourselves using every time we travel (which is a lot):
Fly Aware
Fly Aware is an excellent app for those of you who want to stay on top of real time airport flight delays and conditions - and lets be real...who doesn't want to stay on top of both of those things?!
The app not only shows you plane routes, it also boasts real time updates on things like when planes land, taxi and take off which makes it great for both travelers and those tracking loved ones who are traveling without them.
PackPoint
PackPoint is one of our newest favorites and is perfect for forgetful travelers because the app will create a packing list for you based on criteria surrounding your trip. You simply enter the length of your stay, where you're traveling, the weather at your destination and the activities you have planned. From there the app will suggest things to pack and help you stay organized with lists that you can use for reference while packing.
Snapseed
This photo-editing app is great for travelers who like to take pictures and document their travels. The app allows you to enhance photos and apply digital filters - and it's super easy to use!
Mobile Passport
This is quite possibly one of the most useful apps for you International travelers out there. Why you ask? Well, how does being able to skip past those long Customs lines sound to you?
Plus, the app is incredibly easy to use. When you land, you simply enter your flight information into the app and then once you get off the plane, you will have a dedicated line where a customs agent will check to see that your phone scans properly, and may ask to see your passport, but the entire process is light years faster than what you are used to.
Google Translate
Unless you are fluent in multiple languages, you will likely be traveling to a location where your native language differs from theirs which means simple things like reading menus, signs and communicating with people might be limited. With Google Translate you'll be able to snap a picture of the item you are trying to read, or the app will even listen to someone and instantly translate it into your native language.
Currency Calculator
With CalConvert you will be able to take the guesswork out of converting currencies with a real-time calculator. This app is free and easily converts various units and currencies as well as basic calculator functions which make it handy for determining tips or splitting bills among friends.
Google Maps
As many of you know Google Maps is great for helping with directions, what you might not know is that Google Maps also provides you with the ability to download city maps offline, which means that you can continue to use the maps without using your data!
If you're traveling with a group you can also share your favorite spots with friends, map out public transit routes and provide exact times that you will be arriving.
With all the planning that you do before you travel, using apps like these will help make sure that things go just a smoothly while you are in transit and while you are on the ground during your vacation.
